Amidst, the twilight of apartheid and the first whispers of South Africa’s democratic dawn, a luminous star was born. Kgaogelo Khomotso Kekana graced this world on March 22, 1990, in the humble yet vibrant Moshate Village of Limpopo Province. She emerged as the eldest of three children, born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Kekana. Her formative years were steeped in spiritual guidance under the watchful eye of her aunt, the late Bishop R.E. Matsaung, the founder of Evangelism and Healing Ministry. It was here that Kgaogelo’s musical ministry took root, as she came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ at a tender age.

Kgaogelo’s love affair with singing began at the tender age of six, a passion that only grew stronger as she matured. By her final year of high school, she had ascended to the role of lead vocalist in her church’s youth choir, her voice a beacon during school assemblies and church services alike. Although, her parents pushed her to attain a qualification in Diesel Mechanic, after attaining the qualification and other certificates she decided not to pursue the career as a Diesel Mechanic Engineer but go full time into Music.

Her journey into the gospel music industry truly began with a pivotal demo recording at Dunamis Recording Studios in Polokwane, a venture encouraged by prophetic words from her aunt. This recording became the cornerstone of her burgeoning ministry, opening doors to numerous performance invitations across the region.

In 2012, Kgaogelo recorded “Thabakgolo” a soulful Northern Sotho hymn meaning “Big Mountain.” This was followed two years later by another powerful album, “The Battle is Not Yours”. Her ascent continued in 2015 when she signed with In Hymn Records, leading to notable performances in East London, Johannesburg, and throughout Limpopo. The crescendo of her growing fame was the release of her debut live album, “When Grace Takes Over” on December 1, 2017, following the launch of her single “Mangeloi”
